The news from my grandfather is not so good lately. He had been doing so well since being moved from the hospital to the rehabilitation center. But his condition has plateaued and in some areas is slipping. I haven't seen him in a few days, but apparently he's still not able to eat anything except pureed foods, and he hasn't made any progress since his stroke on being able to feed himself. He's very weak and is becoming more depressed. And his bouts of lucidity are much fewer.
We were hoping he'd be able to return next month to the Alzheimer's facility where he'd been living, but he has to be able to feed himself and to get around by himself via walking or using a wheelchair or walker before they can take him back. Right now, it looks as if those milestones are nowhere close.

I am sorry. I hope it gets better. I can remember watching Paulette go through her struggles. These medical things can be rough.

You and your family have our sympathy. From personal experience, we know that Alzheimer's is tough on both the sufferer and their family.
