Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books And A Beat.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. Put them on your own blog, if you have one, and link to it in a comment to today's entry on the Books And A Beat page. If you don't have a blog, share your teaser in the comment.
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
I just began reading The Madonna of Las Vegas, by Gregory Blake Smith. This teaser is from page 2.
"But just that morning, halfway through a three-year job of reproducing the Sistine ceiling for the Golden Calf casino, he had quit. Quit, just like that—snap!— right in the middle of painting God separating light from darkness, thirty feet above the blackjack tables."
