An Award for Dragons

My book, Dragons, has won a second-place national award from the National Federation of Press Women, in the category for children's nonfiction! I was psyched to hear it (though I would have been even more psyched by a first-place award). This was a fun book to write, about a topic I found fascinating. It came out in 2007 and was published by KidHaven Press. The award will be presented in September at the NFPW conference in Idaho Falls, and I do plan to be there.

Nyah, second place isn't so bad, how many times did you not place at all?

(I know you are not taking this for granted. Congratulations.)

I hear Idaho Falls is lovely this time of...that time of...

I haven't heard anything about Idaho Falls.

Except for powerful awards being given there. Congratulations again!

Yay! Congrats!

No NFPW firsts for me this year. A 2nd, a 3rd, and an HM, and one missing category I don't expect to place in at all. So... I doubt my boss will pick up any of the costs of travel this year. Still on the fence about attending....
