Return of The One-Thirty Bird

June 2nd, 2008 (10:48 am)

current mood: amused

Every year in May, a particular bird or type of bird migrates to my yard to spend the next few months here. I wouldn't recognize this bird by sight, but I know its song. While normal birdies wake up with the sun and happily chirp to greet the dawn, this bird has a warped sense of time. This bird begins to sing each day at 1:30 a.m. Thus, we call it The 1:30 Bird. The 1:30 Bird has a pretty song, but I would enjoy it much more if I heard it five or six hours later. Furthermore, its merry singing awakens all of its merry little friends, and then a whole chorus of birds in my yard sings to greet the middle of the night. Someone needs to teach The 1:30 Bird to tell time.
