Teaser Tuesdays: The Thirteen Clocks (Again)

April 15th, 2014 (01:05 pm)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I haven't started reading another book since I finished one yesterday, so my teaser sentences are from that book. Did you know that April is National Frog Month? So it's only fitting that the page I just opened to, page 31, mentions a frog. This is from The Thirteen Clocks, by James Thurber:

frog"The traveler vanished, like a fly in the mouth of a frog, and the minstrel was left alone in the dark, deserted street. Somewhere a clock dropped a stony chime into the night."

Sounds like a great read, I love how the teaser is so descriptive.
