National NFPW Contest Results!

June 1st, 2013 (02:49 pm)

Judging has been completed in the 2013 NFPW National Communications Contest, and the winners' list is out! The contest is for all forms of published writing, editing, and photography, as well as broadcasting and several other areas of the communications field.

I run the At-Large component of the contest. This takes place in the first stage of the contest, when each state competition holds its own contest, and only the first-place winners from each state move on to the national competition. The At-Large Contest is for members who live in states that don't run a statewide contest of their own. Earlier this spring, I announced the winners in the At-Large competition. Then the first-place At-Large winners moved on to the national contest. And now we have our national winners!

The following members who had already won first in their categories in At-Large have now won awards at the national level.

National awards will be presented at the NFPW Conference August 22-24 in Unique, Unbelievable Utah! Here's a link to information about the Salt Lake City, Utah, conference: http://www.nfpw.org/conference.cfm  I hope you'll all be there, even if you haven't won a national award.

At-Large winners should have already received their certificates. National winners will receive certificates at the conference. But if you'd like something with a little more gravitas, you can order a really nice winner's plaque. See an order form on the NFPW website at http://nfpw.org/pdf/09_Plaque_Order_Form.pdf
