A Week In the Life of Cathy, volume 2

April 20th, 2008 (10:38 pm)
cheerful

current mood: cheerful
current music: Theme songs to 1970s TV shows (really, there's a reason for this...)

Last night I figured out how to download images from my new Canon Powershot A650 directly into my computer. Very cool. Today I kept my camera with me all day and chronicled events as they unfolded. Unfortunately, it wasn't a terribly exciting day. But maybe that's the point, recording whatever happens, good or bad, earth-shattering or routine.

First, We Review the Aim of the Game

For one week you are to post photographs taken during the day.

Rules:
You must take between 6-8 new photographs each day.
Your WITL must be CONSECUTIVE. No skipping days.
You must post your photographs at the end of that day, sometime after the last picture is taken.
Each photograph must have the time taken beneath and ...a title, with no other explanation.

You must post these rules at your first entry, then link back to it for the other 6 days so people know wtf you're doing.

Your post must say "A Week in the Life of (Your name/username), Volume (whatever day you're up to.)"

Look Ma! No More Blue Whiskers!

March 27th, 2008 (06:10 pm)

My baby got his stitches out today. No more blue threads hanging from his chin. I'd post before-and-after pictures, but since I only just ordered the camera, I can't take any.

I spoke too soon. The doorbell just rang, and it was the UPS guy with my new camera. Can't wait to open it!

I Ordered a New Toy!

March 25th, 2008 (03:26 pm)
pleased

current mood: pleased
current music: theme song to the PBSkids show, SuperWhy (my son is watching it in another room)

I finally ordered my new camera! I've been without one since my trusty old Pentax film camera died a few months ago. It was time to go digital, and I've been researching what's available for some time. I don't need a lot of sophisticated features, but I'm very picky about image quality, especially since I often enlarge and crop photos for various projects. I also wanted a decent zoom and an option for manual controls. And I didn't want to spend a fortune.

I just ordered myself a Canon Powershot A650 IS, a 12-megapixel camera with a 1/1.7 sensor, image stabilization, and a 6X zoom. And I should have it in time for my trip to New Hampshire to visit my sister this month. Yay!

Here's a picture of my new baby:
