Election Day in Virginia. Choose a Primary, and VOTE!

June 12th, 2012 (07:12 am)

Today is Election Day in some parts of Virginia. Here in Alexandria, there's a Democratic Primary for City Council (14 candidates; you can choose up to 6) and U.S. Congress (incumbent Jim Moran faces upstart Bruce Shuttleworth). If you need help deciding among those 14 Council candidates, and are interested in public education, check out the candidates' responses to the Alexandria PTA Council's questionnaire about public education in the city.

Or, if you bat for the other team, the Republican Primary here in Alexandria is for U.S. Senate only, with 4 names on the ballot.

Of course, ballots may differ in your neck of the woods.

PLEASE VOTE! Choose a primary, and just do it. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. I'll be there part of that time, handing out brochures and sample ballots.

Decisions are made by those who show up.
